Masirah Is.
Masirah island is in Al Sharqiyah.
Sea turtle's egg laying of this region is famous.
However, there is a base of an Oman air force though it is an island with nothing but the continuation of white sand beaches.
In addition, the sightseeing development is done on this island in recent years, and the international hotel is scheduled to be constructed in several years.
Foreigners are not allowed to enter Masirah because of the Military base (April, 2006).
How to get to
From Muscat
It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes by air.

It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes by ferry.
From Mafoot
It takes 40 minutes by car and 1 hour and 30 minutes by ferry.
Ferry Fee is 8 Rials or 10 Rials (4WD).
